On Being Boring

I moved from London to Brussels with my husband nearly 10 years ago. When I told people we were moving, the news was greeted with bemusement: why did we want to move to a city that was possibly the most boring place on earth? Ten years later and I can honestly say that I've had more fun here than I ever did living in London. It might not be the most exciting city in the world but it is a fantastic place to live. It is full of hidden treasures that you probably never get to see as a tourist: wonderful shops, amazing food, great museums and galleries, beautiful architecture, a forest (yes, a whole forest), and so much more... And if that doesn't convince you, well, get on a train and you could be in Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne or, yes, London in no more than a couple of hours... Which other city can you say that about?

LTWRL – Week 10

I’ve been away and so missed posting my LTWRL update last week. Week 11 will be up on the blog tomorrow so now is my last chance to share some more of Week 10 with you…We were headed out for a bit of roller-blading but needed to drop something off in our basement first. There is one spot of natural light in our basement but it is a pretty spot, with the lovely old brick wall in the background and the bright red pipes. I feel like it would be an excellent location for a wedding shoot. Anyone want to come visit with a big white frilly dress? In the meantime, here’s a lot more natural light. Yes, there was a tad more sitting than skating.

26 May 2014 - 8:02 AM annie - I know you're kidding, but I've been wanting to do an anniversary shoot while we're here in Brussels...we even brought my wedding dress over ;) Also, this is how I know you're a genius because I was thinking mural walls and Mont des Arts scenes and this blows those ideas out of the water!

13 July 2014 - 9:20 PM A Beautiful Goodbye » BRUSSELS IS BORING - [...] we’d plucked up the courage to actually meet, we became instant friends. And then I posted this (click here) and joked that my underground car-park would be an excellent location for a wedding dress shoot. [...]
