On Being Boring

I moved from London to Brussels with my husband nearly 10 years ago. When I told people we were moving, the news was greeted with bemusement: why did we want to move to a city that was possibly the most boring place on earth? Ten years later and I can honestly say that I've had more fun here than I ever did living in London. It might not be the most exciting city in the world but it is a fantastic place to live. It is full of hidden treasures that you probably never get to see as a tourist: wonderful shops, amazing food, great museums and galleries, beautiful architecture, a forest (yes, a whole forest), and so much more... And if that doesn't convince you, well, get on a train and you could be in Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne or, yes, London in no more than a couple of hours... Which other city can you say that about?

I don’t know what to do here now…

Hello. Did you miss me? Did you even notice I was gone? Well I was. While Bluehost (the company that host this website) slept on the job for nearly a month, this little space of mine disappeared. After several ignored emails, Hanno took up my cause and gave them a call. He spent four (4!!!) hours on the phone getting them to fix their mess. I would probably have given up but he has the patience of a saint. He got me back online. Problem is, while I was out there in the wilderness, waiting for them to get their act together and let me back in, I went and made myself a Tumblr (click here) and kinda fell in love with it. It’s so easy, simple, and clean. I’d really encourage you to give it a spin. It’s free too. Unlike this. So what am I going to do here now? I don’t want Han to have waisted his time… Hmm… Well, while I think about it, here’s something to look at:storyboard-374

30 November 2014 - 7:02 AM Caroline - Well, I for one would miss your blog! I seldom comment but I follow every post on bloglovin, I don't know if the tumblr is as easy to follow with that app... But wherever you share our images, it is wonderful to watch your lovely children grow! Amelie is gorgeous on these images again. I' m glad you're back! Xo

1 December 2014 - 7:19 AM Daniel - I don't know how hard it would be to export your Wordpress and add it to Tumblr, but if its possible you could do that; have Bluehost point your domain to your new Tumblelog and keep hosting email.
